Interesting Facts
  • The winner of this event not only wins the gold buckle but also a limited edition Colt .45 trophy gun!
  • After the bull rider rides or gets bucked off he must walk up 85 steps to get back to the locker room.
  • This was the 20th year of the Ty Murray Invitational.
  • Friday night was an ABBI Classic Event.
  • Spud Jones competed in this event as the Native American invite.
  • Guilherme Marchi states he wants to get to 600 qualified rides in his career! Marchi also stated that he wants to keep going for at least another five years. Then Marchi with Robson Palermo next to him stated that they will go out together when the time is right - but it won't be for a long time.
  • Paulo Lima was out of action after round one due to a left knee injury.
  • Joao Ricardo Vieira broke his nose and has facial lacerations after round one. Dr. Tandy wanted him to sit out but JR didn't want to miss out on the action. So JR cowboy'd up and rode!
  • Mason Lowe was riding with torn cartilage in his riding wrist! That didn't look to stop him this weekend!!
  • J.B. Mauney after winning both rounds one and two became the number one bull rider in the world standings again. But J.B. responded with a normal J.B. response - "It only matters after the last bull bucks in Vegas." J.B. also stated that "bull riding is 99% above your shoulders."
  • Alexandre Cardozo sustained a concussion after getting bucked off in round two. Then Cardozo needed to be helped out after getting thrown into the barriers after round three.
  • Matt Triplett took a hard shot after getting bucked off in round two. We later found out that Triplett has a right ankle injury - not sure if just sprained or broken - and was out of action for Sunday.
  • Robson Palermo was out of competition on Sunday due to a sore left hand.
  • Fabiano Vieira elected not to ride in the championship round even though he had slot after others were out of action due to injury.
Next weekend the PBR takes a break so everyone can be with their families for the Easter weekend. But the following weekend we will head to Sioux Falls, SD for the First PREMIER Bank Invitational. This event is now a 3-day event. See y'all in two weeks!!!
